Fishing, what can I say. It is one of the best sports that there ever is. In michigan, fish can be landed in all shapes and sizes. We've got sturgeon to bluegill, salmon, to brook trout, an anglers dream. You can either fish the huge Great lakes, from the inland lakes or to the Mighty rivers. The great Lakes is a great place to fish. There is always something to catch there. You can fish the peirs all the time for some kind of fish. You have the steelies that stage in the spring with the walleye. Then you can catch diferent types of fish during summer, and then you have the mighty king salmon head into the rivers in the fall. In the Great Lakes, there is always a fish to fish for. They are always on the move so keep up with there migration and you will do quite fine. Then when they hit the river, that is a different story. You can fish the fish from shore or in a drift boat. You can always find a river to fish. There is the Au salble, the mighty Mo, the Pere Marquette, or the Little and Big Manistee. There are also a lot of other rivers that you can fish. The most favorite fish to fish for is the steelhead. Some come in with the salmon and stay in the river. Then they spawn in the spring in the same river they were born. Then you have the walleye and suckers that come in with them. Then in some rivers such as the St Joe and Manistee, you have the summer steelhead(AKA skamania). During the summer you can fish for all different types of trout. Make sure where you fish is legal and also, you need a all species license. Then from the middle of the summer to around the end of october thr salmon come in. In the summer, the fish are really skiitish and if you hear of them coming in, it is most likely you won't see one, but getting closer to fall it will be better. It also turnes to a mad house then with all the snagger. Alway carry a cell phone so you can report these jerks. And, never let them take your hole because it will scare the fish away quick. You also have the inland lakes. Everything can be taken in these lakes and I mean everything. Most people fish these lakes for bass, walleye, catfish, pike, and bluegill. There are different technigues for all of these fish. Check out the forums in the home page to keep up with what is going on where you want to fish. | |
